Manufacturer and systems integrator Moog Inc. launched its AXP Axial Piston Pump Series, a hydraulic system the company claims is specifically engineered for better performance, reliability and cost-efficiency in industrial applications.

These pumps have a patented, slipper-less 15-piston floating configuration that combines the strengths of internal gear and piston pump technologies. This feature is key to the pump’s ability to operate at high speeds with low noise in addition to the case that reduces pulsation and noise. The pump series also has resistance to cavitation and contamination, making it suitable for injection molding, metal forming and material handling.

Other features include durability from the slipper-less design that reduces sensitivity to low suction pressures and works with an external drain to maximize uptime. The pump's high-power density and 100% through-drive capability allow for smaller system footprints and flow scalability.
