Pepperl+Fuchs and Körber Combine MES and HMI Tech for the Pharma Industry
Pepperl+Fuchs and pharmaceutical technology specialist Körber have announced a partnership designed to provide integrated digital production management technologies to the pharmaceutical and life sciences sectors.
The partnership unites Körber's PAS-X MES (manufacturing execution system) with Pepperl+Fuchs' GMP-compliant VisuNet human-machine interfaces (HMIs). Körber added that its PAS-X MES system manages the entire manufacturing lifecycle, from initial process development through commercial production to final packaging operations.
According to the two companies, Pepperl+Fuchs’ GMP-compliant VisuNet HMIs enable users to access PAS-X MES directly and securely from anywhere in the world, including stationary operator workstations or handheld devices. This level of connection enables operators to access critical production data more rapidly while simplifying daily workflows and reducing potential errors, resulting in a system that supports efficient, secure and compliant manufacturing processes in line with the pharmaceutical industry regulatory requirements.
The VisuNet HMI series is tailored to pharmaceutical manufacturing requirements with its Ex-certifications up to Zone 1/21, Division 1.
The combined technologies have already been successfully deployed and used in numerous field installations, said Pepperl+Fuchs and Körber.
