Insights for Packaging and Processing OEMs

May 14, 2015
A new web site and publication from PMMI targets the technology and business issues faced by OEMs.

To address the specific concerns of the OEM community, PMMI (the publisher of Automation World, Packaging World, Healthcare Packaging and Contract Packaging) has launched Packaging + Processing OEM at www.pp-oem.com and will publish a print edition quarterly in 2015.

Matt Reynolds, editorial director of Packaging + Processing OEM, says engineering readers can expect “articles covering machine HMIs in the smartphone era, the latest on mechatronic machine design, getting the most out of 3D modeling software, hygienic equipment design, and making sense of OEE models that their customers are using. Operations and executive management readers will find coverage of the transition from engineering-to-stock to engineering-to-order, improving materials management, workforce development tips, getting serious about exports, implementing ERP systems, the pros and cons of line integration, and avoiding terms and conditions sand traps when negotiating customer contracts.”

Though resources from PMMI will be mainstays of this publication, Reynolds says, “It’s important to note that this is not an association magazine. The mission is to help all packaging and processing OEMs—members and non-members alike—build not just better machines, but better businesses.”

Sean Riley, OEM editorial veteran from PMMI’s former PMT publication, along with Packaging World’s Vice President and Editor Pat Reynolds, will help guide the coverage at Packaging + Processing OEM with the aid of an editorial advisory board drawn from the ranks of leading OEMs.
