Complementing the existing Codian delta line of robots, B&R’s new SCARA models extend the range of Codian robot applications to include high-speed handling with a lateral offset or overhead mounting restrictions. These SCARA robots can handle payloads ranging from 3 to 65 kg.
The Codian SR lineup also includes cleanroom-qualified models that provide undisturbed airflow in sensitive environments like semiconductor or pharmaceutical production.
As with B&R’s Codian delta robots, the SR models are available either with open robot mechanics or combined with B&R controls and software as an integrated machine-centric robotics (MCR) system.
"Our MCR solutions make robots a plug-and-play part of the machine," explains Dario Rovelli, B&R's global product group manager for mechatronics. "That means no extra controllers, no engineering silos – just one seamless system from transport to handling. All thinking and acting as one, in tight synchronization with AI-enhanced machine vision and motion control."
The new SCARA models can also use B&R's open software platform, mapp Robotics, for sophisticated robotic handling development without requiring specialist knowledge in robotics programming. In mapp Robotics, users can access familiar machine programming languages like Ladder Diagram, Structured Text and C/C++.
