VFD cable from AutomationDirect is now available in customer specified lengths in one-foot increments.

VFD cable from AutomationDirect is now available in customer specified lengths in one-foot increments. VFD cable is used to organize and protect the input and motor power wiring for variable frequency drives. It is specially designed using grounding, shielding & insulation to reduce VFD-related interference (EMI) on nearby equipment.

AutomationDirect VFD cables utilize cross-linked Polyethylene (XLPE) conductor insulation with Class K, flexible stranded tinned annealed copper conductors. XLPE insulation can withstand voltages as much as 3x higher than standard PVC/nylon insulation for VFD cables. VFD cable is available with 4-conductors (including ground) in 16 AWG to 2 AWG sizes, and is 1000V rated for use with 460-volt drives.

VFD cable starts at $1.99 / ft. and is available in cut-to-length one-foot increments with minimum 10 to 20-foot lengths depending on wire size. Cut-to-length cable eliminates waste and lowers cost (only as much cable as required is purchased). There are no cut charges and no shipping charges (on orders over $49). Cable is cut to length at AutomationDirect’s own UL Certified respooling facility and is available for same day shipping if ordered by 6:00pm ET.
