In addition, it also allows for Ethernet components to be connected directly to the drives, reducing the amount of wiring needed. The interface reduces the configuration of the communication protocols Sercos III, Profinet Io (Rt), EtherNet/IP and EtherCAT to the adjusting of software settings. As a result, OEMs are able to implement the different automation structures requested by end users with one single type of hardware, making logistics and spare parts management significantly easier. The certified safety function STO (Safe Torque Off), which is integrated into the drive, ensure operational safety without requiring an additional control system. The STO function in the IndraDrive Mi is certified Cat 4 PL e according to EN ISO 13849-1 and SIL 3 according to EN 62061.
