FM-Approved Temperature Sensors

Aug. 27, 2010
Electro-Sensors, Inc. announces its FM-approved temperature sensors now include a built-in conduit adapter and grease-fitting (zerk) tap. TT420-LT (Liquid Tight) temperature sensors combine a sensor, signal conditioner and loop-powered 4-20mA transmitter into a rugged and compact package.

With the addition of an integrated conduit fitting, the 1/2-in. TT420Z-LT and TT420S-LT models are now compatible with a wider variety of sensing applications. Plus, all models arrive ready to use, with no user calibration required.

All TT420-LT models are compatible with standard 2-wire 4-20mA current loops and analog inputs. Models vary only in their measurement probes and fittings, which are optimized for applications including grain handling facility shaft bearing (TT420Z-LT) and belt rub-block (TT420S-LT) temperature measurement. All models feature an integrated fitting for 1/2-in. flexible liquid-tight conduit and are FM approved as Dust Ignition-proof for use in Class II and III, Ev. 1 and 2, Group E, F, G ratings, when installed using Class II rated (1/2 in) flexible liquid-tight conduit. The TT420Z-LT is compatible with 1/8-in., 1/4-in. and 1/2-in. NPT grease fitting zerk taps. The TT420S-LT additionally screws into a brass rub-block with a 3/8-16 tap and is available with the option of a lug mount adapter, supporting a wide variety of mounting possibilities.

Applications: Electro-Sensors’ TT420-LT models can be used to monitor temperature on a wide range of industrial machinery, including:

o Conveyors
o Bucket elevators
o Motors
o Gearboxes
o Pumps
o Turbines
o Fans
o Curing ovens
o Centrifuges
o Agitators
o Hammermills
