Simplify Application Configuration/Testing

Nov. 12, 2007
The USB Serial Port Adapter with Bluetooth and Wireless LAN (WLAN) functionality is designed to make configuration and testing easier for the industrial application programmer, as it eliminates the need for cables for connection and power supply.

The USB Serial Port Adapter automatically installs itself as a virtual COM port when connected to the computer. The installation runs smoothly as the industrial application programmer gains full control via the vendor’s standard AT commands. The Bluetooth and WLAN stacks are incorporated in the modules; therefore, no additional software is needed in the computer. “Since the programmer need not license a complex Bluetooth or WLAN host stack or driver, there are no additional configuration costs,” says Rolf Nilsson, president at the vendor.
