Printer Withstands Washdowns

March 1, 2004
The LINX 4900 Small Character Continuous Ink Jet Printer is a two-line printer with a stainless steel cover that has no dirt traps and provides a surface off which liquid naturally slides.

This coupled with its IP55 rating makes it well-suited for wash down environments such as food packaging, without the cost of factory air. Autoflush of the printer and conduit at shutdown ensures trouble-free startups. The sealed print head uses an intelligent control system for maintaining print quality, and incorporates a valve system for clearer, cleaner startups, even after extended shutdowns. The LINX 4900 is designed to minimize the need for user intervention. Running parameters are monitored and adjusted by the printer, with on-screen diagnostics, meaning the user never needs to open the enclosure. Up to 50 messages can be stored and selected for printing via a prescreen view.
