Featuring digital signal processing (DSP) technology and increased memory, the Legend 550 series is the next in the vendor’s line of smart cameras, operating at speeds up to eight times faster than the earlier Legend 540 line.

The 550 series incorporates a Texas Instruments DSP processor along with increased RAM and flash memory, while retaining the familiar Legend family form factor. The 550 is offered in four models. The 550M and 552C provide gray scale and color imaging, respectively, at 640-by-480 resolution. The 554M and 554C, provide gray scale and color imaging, respectively, at 1280-by-1024 resolution.
