Posital has updated its family of 36 mm kit encoders for motion control applications. Upgrades include higher resolution and refined packaging, better protection from solid particles and simplified installation. These encoders now feature tunneling magneto resistance technology for rotational position sensing. For multiturn variants, new ASIC and Wiegand sensors combine to provide a self-powered rotation counter. This allows for recording of all rotation of the host machine’s shaft even when system power is unavailable. The new protective cover is 19.3 mm high, about 4 mm lower than previous models. Kit encoders are available with SSI and BiSS-C communications interfaces.
