Mitsubishi Electric Automation has announced new support multiple networks for its Melservo-J5 (MR-J5) servo amplifiers. The MR-J5 multi-network servo amplifier was originally available with EtherCAT compatibility. Now it can unlock EtherNet/IP functionality. This feature is now available through a firmware update, allowing users to upgrade their product without purchasing new hardware. This update, with pre-configured instructions, integrates with existing controllers, such as ControlLogix and CompactLogix, to reduce setup time and lower total cost of ownership.
