The NPort S8458 series is a combination device server/Ethernet switch with eight Ethernet ports.
The S8458 joins the five-Ethernet port S8455 to supply compact, space-saving device server and Ethernet switch functionality in a single unit at very low power consumption and cost, according to the company. The company’s Turbo Ring and Turbo Chain technology (recovery time < 20 ms) or RSTP/STP (IEEE 802.1w/D) also provide Ethernet redundancy functions to increase reliability and availability. Applications include traffic monitoring and control, and renewable energy system control. The NPort S8458 series complies with the UL60950-1 standard and supports high level, 15 KV, ESD protection to prevent damage from static electricity. Moxa, Inc. www.moxa.com
