The Siemens S7-1200 G2 NFC App uses near field communications (NFC) to provide access to the S7-1200 G2 compact PLC. Just touch your phone to the front of the S7-1200 G2 CPU and you can change the CPU operational mode, see detailed information about devices connected to the CPU and read diagnostic information. Essentially, the S7-1200 NFC App turns your phone into a mini HMI. Features include: the ability to read model and serial numbers, change the operational mode or IP address of the CPU, reset the CPU memory, monitor CPU scan times, check CPU memory usage, write time of day to the CPU, access diagnostic information of the CPU and connected devices, and access hyperlinks to the Siemens support site for access to manuals, certificates, firmware updates and other technical information.
