The company inaugurated a new campus in Cernay, France, designed to strengthen collaboration while reducing energy use.

Key Highlights

  • The campus brings production, sales and central functions together at one site.
  • The facility is expected to use about 70 percent less energy than the company’s previous headquarters.
  • More than 800 employees work at the campus, which also includes customer and training facilities.

Endress+Hauser launched its new company campus this month in Cernay, France, designed to consume about 70 percent less energy than its previous headquarters while promoting company collaboration.

The company produces electromagnetic, ultrasonic and vortex flowmeters, and has been manufacturing flowmeters in Cernay since 1991. At the new campus, Endress+Hauser is aiming to combine production, sales and central functions at a single site.

“The new campus provides the optimal environment for closer collaboration between sales, service and production. It enhances our customer closeness, promotes innovation and supports our long-term growth,” said Peter Selders, CEO of Endress+Hauser.

Over 800 employees are now working at the Cernay site, with around 140 employees relocated from the company's sales center in Huningue, France.

The company prioritized sustainability in constructing the new campus, as 96 percent of the total 1,405 tons of material was reused or recycled. The new facility meets the requirements of France’s RE2020 environmental regulation for new buildings and is designed to consume about 70 percent less energy than the previous headquarters in Huningue by using geothermal energy, photovoltaic installations, green roofs and energy-efficient heating and cooling systems, according to Endress+Hauser.

As part of the company's efforts to promote collaboration, the sales building provides workspaces for employees, and the facilities include a customer experience center, a process training unit for hands-on training, numerous breakout spaces and common areas and an auditorium.

In June, the company opened two new facilities in the U.S. as it expands its presence in the country and aims to strengthen collaboration with regional sales and service representative partners.
