Wolong Electric To Showcase High-Efficiency Motor Solutions For Water and Wastewater Applications At WEFTEC 2026

Company officials say the equipment is engineered to support energy savings, reliability, and performance in demanding pumping applications.

Wolong Electric America will showcase its focused portfolio of motors and drives for water and wastewater systems at WEFTEC 2026 in New Orleans.

Those technologies include electronically commutated (EC) motors, energy saver severe duty and close-coupled motors, vertical hollow and solid shaft motors as well as medium voltage drives.

The company’s EC Motor platform is for applications requiring precise speed control, compact design and advanced electronic protection. Manufactured in Monterrey, Mexico and offered in outputs from 0.09 to 7.5 kW, the EC motor series meets or exceeds IE4 requirements and supports smooth torque delivery across the full speed range.

According to Wolong officials, the EC Motor platform offers speed control accuracy down to 1 rpm and supports multiple control options including serial port, PWM, 0–10 VDC, and 24 VAC multispeed inputs. With protection against overvoltage, undervoltage, overcurrent, locked rotor, and overtemperature conditions, the motors help OEMs and system designers improve reliability while reducing energy use and operating costs in critical pumping applications.

Wolong’s energy saver severe duty and close-coupled motors are designed for challenging pumping, fluid handling and food processing environments. These severe-duty NEMA three-phase motors are available in JM and JP mounting designs, NEMA frames 143 to 365, horsepower ratings from 1 to 75 HP, and 208-230/460 V configurations.

These motors are made with aluminum or heavy-duty cast iron frames, endshields, and conduit boxes, along with heavy-gauge steel fan covers and non-sparking fans.

Wolong’s Ultra Series vertical pump motors combine NEMA Premium efficiency, full inverter-duty capability exceeding NEMA MG1-31 requirements, cast iron construction, Class H insulation, and high-thrust performance intended for deep-well and other vertical pumping applications across wastewater treatment and related industries.

The vertical hollow and solid shaft platform is available from 3 to 3000 HP, 600 to 3600 RPM as well as 460, 575, and 2300/4160 V, with WPI and TEFC enclosures and P-base mountings. Features such as effective rodent protection, improved axial ball ratchet systems, insulated bearing and AEGIS SGR protection, and extended bearing life help operators improve long-term reliability in demanding service conditions, according to company officials.

Wolong Electric America’s medium voltage variable frequency drives deliver reliable, efficient control. Built on a cascaded H-Bridge, IGBT-based multi-level inverter topology, the drives provide low-distortion output without external filters, compatibility with both new and legacy motors, and reduced grid harmonics through an all-copper pulse phase shift transformer. Power-cell redundancy, neutral rebalancing, modular swap-out components, redundant cooling fans and a compact drawer-style design help keep critical equipment running while simplifying maintenance and minimizing downtime, according to company officials.

Wolong Electric America’s solutions will be showcased at Booth #7747 at the conference.
