Schneider Electric Now Offers Industrial Managed Security Services

Oct. 11, 2023
This new as-a-service cybersecurity offering works with the user’s existing IT/OT infrastructure to protect networks, systems and data across IT, operations and cloud environments.

Schneider Electric has launched its Managed Security Services (MSS) to help industrial companies address increasing cyber risks often occurring around remote access and connectivity technologies.

MSS provides cybersecurity-as-a-service to monitor cyber threats and proactively respond on behalf of users. A key facet in Schneider Electric’s choice to provide MSS as-a-service centers on continuous updating of the technology—a task made more difficult with on-premises software.

According to Schneider Electric, MSS uses machine learning and trend analysis to continuously optimize and addresses real-time threats. The services include 24/7/365 support through Schneider Electric’s Cybersecurity Connected Service Hub, with a global engineering and support team available around the clock.

Key capabilities of MSS include:

• asset inventory and visibility

• vulnerability assessment and prioritization

• threat detection and triage

• cybersecurity device health monitoring, maintenance and support

• regulation and compliance reporting

• cybersecurity key performance indicators and reporting.

Schneider Electric’s MSS is vendor-agnostic, meaning that it can operate with an organization’s existing IT/OT infrastructure. As with all of Schneider Electric’s cybersecurity technologies and services, MSS follows the ISA/IEC 62443-4-1 standard addressing security from the beginning of product development through the life cycle.

In the announcement explaining MSS, Schneider Electric noted that it is “one of the few global MSS providers to integrate security monitoring and remediation support, defending digital infrastructures across all business types and industries. This MSS solution monitors known risks and protects networks, systems and data across IT, OT and cloud environments—each of which have specific protocols and attack vectors. This new service can help customers to reduce the risk of emerging threats and sophisticated attacks that these unique technical and operational environments face.”

This new cybersecurity offering is continuously evolving, helping to protect our customers against new cyber threats that can, and will, arise,” said Jay Abdallah, vice president of cybersecurity solutions and services at Schneider Electric. “Managed Security Services will help our customers implement cybersecurity industry-leading practices, proactively address risk, and align to regulatory requirements, giving them the ability to focus on their core operations.”
