Energy Management Software Drives Efficiency

May 1, 2009
The industrial cpmPlus Energy Manager software addresses the business side of energy management by producing accurate energy demand plans and optimizing the energy supply planning.
Suited for all industries, but especially pertinent for process industries, the software analyzes the cost of electricity and provides support to schedule electricity consumption for off-peak hours. It can coordinate electricity purchases, and is completely scalable. Features include planning and scheduling tools, real-time monitoring and reporting tools to evaluate and report energy consumption, costs, efficiency and other energy-related information. The software is a core component of cpmPlus, the company’s Collaborative Production Management suite of applications. The software can monitor a single facility, but also can be expanded to include multiple sites or support implementation throughout an entire company. The company says overall cost reductions can range from two to five percent of the manufacturer’s total electricity cost. A key component of this strategy is to tie into sources of energy consumption, many of which are already captured in a plant level historian, others require an OPC connection.ABB, Inc. 203.750.2200www.abb.com/cpm
