connectBlue(TM) Launches Innovative Wireless Ethernet Port Adapters

Nov. 25, 2008
Based either on Bluetooth or Wireless LAN 802.11 technology, the new Rugged Ethernet Port Adapters from connectBlue are well suited for all Ethernet based devices and systems in need of wireless connectivity.

The products utilize a unique method to improve wireless coexistence without damaging the Bluetooth conformity or the interoperability with other devices. Further, the built in antennas uses a unique radiation pattern. Thereby, the innovative products optimize the installation process as well as lower the installation costs in demanding applications.

The connectBlue Rugged Bluetooth Ethernet Port Adapter (RBEPA) and Rugged Wireless LAN Ethernet Port Adapter (RWEPA) are especially well suited for mobile, rotating and temporary installations where there is a need for replacing the Ethernet cable with a robust and maintenance-free wireless connection.

“The new Wireless Ethernet Port Adapters are called “Intelligent antennas™” thanks to the ease of use and cost efficiency of the installation and configuration,” said Rolf Nilsson, CEO of connectBlue. “Another unique feature is the Low Emission Mode™ which solves potential interference disturbances between Bluetooth and Wireless LAN that is not handled by the Bluetooth implementation of Adaptive Frequency Hopping.”

The Wireless Ethernet Port Adapters are part of the connectBlue product range of ready-to-use Wireless Products in industrial housings. Thanks to the SMART configuration mode, the user can simply just push a button when configuring and initiate automatic configuration. In addition, there is a web browser configuration tool. Also important to note is that the product supports roaming. OEM versions for integration in other devices are also available.
