Industrial Networking: Verizon Wireless certifies CalAmp 4G broadband router

June 6, 2012
CalAmp Corp., a provider of wireless products, services and solutions, announced that its high-performance, multi-band Fusion-LTE 4G router platform has been certified by Verizon Wireless for operation on the Verizon nationwide cellular data network.

The Fusion-LTE enables broadband communications for industrial, Smart Grid and other mission-critical applications.

The Fusion-LTE operates on the latest 4G cellular networks, giving users unparalleled communications speed and throughput for data-intensive applications. In the absence of 4G coverage, the auto-adapting device will fall back to 3G performance.

This new broadband router provides wireless data connectivity in bands 13, 14 and 17 at 4G speeds over both public and private LTE networks with network and device management and end user applications supported over CalAmp’s COLT cloud-based enterprise server platform. GPS and optional embedded Wi-Fi, with Client and Access Point functionality, afford users the flexibility to customize their solutions for a variety of fixed or mobile communication environments.

“The certification of the Fusion-LTE 4G by Verizon Wireless allows CalAmp customers to leverage the speed of Verizon’s new 4G network through the superior performance of our versatile broadband router. Fusion-LTE will support a variety of mission-critical, fixed-remote and mobile applications with reliable, high-speed data communications capability,” said Mike Zachan, General Manager of CalAmp’s Wireless Networks business.
