Epicor's Cloud ERP Solution Targets Midsize Manufacturers

Sept. 18, 2012
Enterprise software maker Epicor Software Corporation announced expanded availability of its next-generation cloud enterprise resource planning (ERP) solution at the International Manufacturing Technology Show (IMTS) being held September 10-15 in Chicago, IL.

Enterprise software maker Epicor Software Corporation announced expanded availability of its next-generation cloud enterprise resource planning (ERP) solution at the International Manufacturing Technology Show (IMTS) being held September 10-15 in Chicago, IL. Epicor ERP is multi-tenant software as a service (SaaS) solution now available to midmarket manufacturers, distributors and service organizations.
The solution builds upon the success of the 2010 launch of Epicor Express, a comprehensive SaaS ERP system specifically designed for job shops and small manufacturers and distributors.

“Based on the market response and success with Epicor ERP Express Edition, our SaaS ERP offering for smaller manufacturers and distributors, we’re excited to now extend our ERP cloud solutions to larger organizations,” said Chad Meyer, director, product marketing for Epicor. “Increasingly we are seeing a demand from businesses looking for an advanced cloud-based ERP solution. Providing unprecedented deployment flexibility, Epicor ERP is available on premise, hosted or in the cloud. Epicor is the only vendor to have designed and deployed a full featured multi-tenant SaaS and on-premise version out of a single product to its customers.”

Strategic Approach to Cloud ERP Portfolio
According to a report from Gartner, Inc., “Enterprises continue to push SaaS investments, as SaaS encompasses 17.9% of the overall IT enterprise application software budget.”1 As more buyers look to cloud-based enterprise applications for faster implementations, lower IT overhead and cost savings, it is important that they consider offerings that provide the fit, flexibility and scalability their business will require. Furthermore, a recent Forrester Research report noted, “With this increased investment and greater importance to business operations, sourcing and vendor management executives are taking a more strategic approach to SaaS deployments, realizing that one-off, business-led purchases typically result in redundancy, contractual/cost inefficiencies, and even security/compliance risks.”2

Epicor next-generation ERP was developed on a multi-tenant service-oriented architecture (SOA), the foundation enables Epicor ERP to be deployed in multi-tenant SaaS, single-tenant (hosted), and on-premise—making Epicor ERP a truly unique offering. Customers can select the edition and deployment– model that works best for them and as they evolve have the peace of mind that their ERP solution has the flexibility and functionality to accommodate their future requirements and growth.
