Epicor Launches ERP AI Agent for Sourcing
Epicor, a supplier of industry-specific enterprise software, has released Epicor Prism Business Communications, which it claims is “the industry’s first ERP (enterprise resource planning) AI agent with outcomes-based pricing.”
According to Epicor, the software automates RFQ (request for quote) workflows and accelerates supplier communications, helping cut supply chain cycle time, reduce manual work and make fast purchasing decisions.
A key aspect of the software is its outcomes-based pricing — users only pay for RFQs that convert to purchase orders.
The Epicor Prism Business Communications AI agent works with users via email so that it doesn’t require separate portals or predefined templates. The software was built to understand Epicor’s ERP data structure so that the agent can carry on a conversation with a user and contextually translate email communications with suppliers such as lead times, cost and part ID directly into the ERP.
Epicor said the AI agent’s capabilities enables users to:
- Automate handling and quote comparison across multi-supplier, multi-part RFQ scenarios.
- Derive insights from supplier quotes using AI-generated summaries and suggested next steps.
- Improve procurement performance with metrics on RFQ cycle time, quote responsiveness and supplier engagement.
- Make smarter supply chain decisions by flagging missing data, quote inconsistencies and priority items.
The company developed this software because it saw that many companies still rely on manual RFQ processes and disconnected systems that slow decision-making and delay orders.
Epicor Prism Business Communications is available for Epicor Kinetic and can be natively embedded as part of the Epicor Industry ERP Cloud experience.
