With its new Schroff Interscale M range of cases, Pentair is expanding its solutions portfolio beyond the 19" standard to include Interscale M cases for small form factor PCBs. What is special about these new cases, however, is that they deliver electronics protection design flexibility at a very competitive price point.
Schroff Interscale M provides a flexible platform for protecting small form factor electronics, including single board computers (SBC), computer-on-module (COM), nanoETXexpress, Mini-ITX and Nano-ITX and may be configured to range from smaller 5.25" designs to standard 19" rack sizing. Areas of application include mini-PC, POS (Point of Sale), communications, transportation, medical equipment and industrial automation electronic solutions.
Pentair customers have the option to order standard or modified versions of all of products available within the product family. “We are excited to launch Interscale M not only for its versatility in sizing and accessories, but also for the modification options we bring to our customers, allowing for a highly versatile solution at a very attractive price point,” said Marc Caiola, Marketing Leader, North America.
The ease of component integration and speed of assembly of Interscale M sets it apart from other cases in the market further reducing total cost of design and manufacturing. The case can be assembled or dismantled with just two screws (see video here), which greatly reduces assembly and integration time. Interlocking case walls provide EMC protection higher than 20 dB in the range of 30 MHz to 2 GHz. Schroff Interscale M offers design engineers a wide variety of off-the-shelf accessories such as flexible PCB stand offs, various plug-in feet, fans and mounting components. These options ensure greater cost control and reduced time to market. Customers can choose from 21 different case sizes with solid side panels and from 19 sizes with perforated design options for maximum cooling and cooling fan capabilities. The versions with solid side panels offer protection to IP 30.
Further modifications such as color, cut-outs and printing on front and rear panels allow for additional customization of Pentair’s versatile Interscale M cases. Pentair will modify to customer requirements from a single prototype unit to large production runs. Pentair’s commitment to customers includes technical support, design and engineering services along with downloadable, 3D (CAD) files of Schroff Interscale M cases.
