This year too, the companies have been rated by Prof. Dr. Nikolaus Franke and his team of the Chair for Entrepreneurship and Innovation of the Economic University of Vienna. They evaluated 100 parameters in five valuation categories.: "Innovation-fostering top management“, "Innovation climate“, "Innovative processes and organization“, "Innova-tion marketing/External orientation" and "Innovation success“.

The TOP 100 belong to the pacemakers in their sectors. This is demonstrated by the figures of the evaluation: Among these companies, 97 are national market leaders and 32 global market leaders. They achieved lastly 40 percent of their turnover with market innovations and product improvements they introduced on the market before the competition. In this context, their turnover growth was about 28 percent above their respective sector average. This innovative strength also pays off in the jobs: The TOP 100 plan to hire about 9,500 new employees in the coming three years.

The TOP 100 mentor, the science journalist and TV presenter Ranga Yogeshwar, is impressed by the quality of the companies and hopes this will have a signal effect: "The way the TOP 100 generate new ideas and develop them to pathbreaking products and services is literally remarkable. I am therefore glad that this award makes these qualities visible. Hopefully their success will encourage other compa-nies to follow their example. Because this innovation culture will become increasingly important in the future for all companies."
