CPU Upgrade Boosts Power

March 6, 2011
A new CPU board with an Intel Core2 Duo P8400 processor provides a more powerful platform for the Automation PC 810 and Panel PC 800 devices.

The combination of the 2.26GHz Core2 Duo processor and the GM45 chipset provides higher performance levels at an attractive price, says the vendor, even for demanding applications such as vision systems. Both processor cores share a 3MB level 2 cache, which allows efficient multitasking. The 1.066MHz frontside bus is also combined with DDR3 RAM modules, thus rounding out the high-performance infrastructure of the system. The different device variants can easily be scaled to meet differing task requirements. Variants of the APC810 provide one through five slots.
