Pattern Matching Vision Software

Sept. 1, 2004
PatMax geometric pattern matching software is now available on the vendor’s In-Sight 5100, 5400 and 3400 vision sensors. PatMax provides accurate feature location despite changes in image angle, size, rotation and appearance.

The software provides up to ten times greater accuracy than other pattern matching software, says the vendor, and easily handles variation in part appearance caused by process variation, reflective surfaces, partial occlusion, nonlinear changes in lighting or uneven image formation. “PatMax software enables our customers to simplify their mechanical fixturing and lighting, making vision projects easier and less expensive to implement,” says Jim Hoffmaster, chief operating officer at the vendor.
