Ethernet Switch Offers Options

Jan. 1, 2004
A five-port Ethernet switch designated the 900EN-S005 is suitable for use in harsh conditions, and can work over a –25°C to 70°C ambient temperature range.

Internal intelligence enables “connect-and-go” operation for fast and easy network installation with auto-negotiation of 10/100Mbps data rate, full/half-duplex flow control and crossover signal compatibility. No configuration is necessary when the 900EN-S005 is used as a simple switch with the vendor’s Ethernet I/O modules. The switch also offers multiple control functions—including back pressure flow controls, an energy miser function, a toggle switch reset and smart address management—that are configured through DIP-switch settings. More advanced options are programmable through a PC connection. The switch list price is $395.
