Surge Protection

Jan. 1, 2004
The SLP Series surge protector is designed to meet the needs of process control I/O in a compact package. The SLP delivers 20kA of surge protection in a package that requires 3mm of space for each wire protected.

According to the vendor, the design fits easily into most process I/O configurations. Each SLP provides surge protection for two separate loops, with standard pluggable connectors. If replacement or upgrade is necessary, the SLP can be removed without disconnecting any wires. The 20kA-rated multistage hybrid unit is covered by the manufacturer’s 10-year warranty. The SLP has no impact on normal operation of the signal loop, whether installed on a 4-20mA loop or higher bandwidth application, and can be deployed in both safe and hazardous areas.
