Eplan: Online Database Supplies Device Master Data

Whether users need order numbers for procurement, technical macros for creating schematics, location drawings for equipping, function templates for intelligent device selection or preview screens for presentations, all these these can be accessed through the data portal by by dragging-and-dropping them into a project in the company's computer-aided engineering tool. The online portal has almost a quarter million components and device data elements from nearly 50 manufacturers, and the number continues to grow. The portal provides the master data of major automation manufacturers, and also contains schematic macros, multilingual parts information, preview images, documents and more. New features include the capability for a manufacturer's product configurator to be linked directly to the portal. For components that are changing rapidly, manufacturers can link their product configurator so that complex products can be directly imported to the portal and be used within the platform for schematic drawings, wiring diagrams, panel layouts, etc. This saves users having to create each piece from scratch.
