Enterprise-class Industrial Networking

Nov. 5, 2009
Billed as the first industrial Ethernet switch to bring true enterprise-class networking to harsh environments, the EL228 is a 28 port (24 + 4G) industrial Ethernet managed switch designed to provide customers with superior flexibility.

Its 24 Fast Ethernet small form-factor pluggable (SFP) ports are fully field-configurable, and can be used for any mix of copper RJ45 or fiber transceivers. This enables users to modify configurations as networking requirements change. Its rugged design and compliance with IEC 61850/IEEE1613 standards means that the EL228 is well-suited for harsh industrial applications, while providing a variety of enterprise-class features, says the vendor, including advanced cyber-security, fast redundancy, real-time message delivery, enhanced multicasting, and powerful management and monitoring to enable easy deployment and troubleshooting.
