Welding-tough I/O

As the latest addition to the vendor’s Allen-Bradley 1732 ArmorBlock product line, 1732 Armor WeldBlock units are digital I/O blocks for on-machine mounting that are designed to withstand the demanding environment of welding operations.

WeldBlock units combine industrially hardened 24VDC I/O circuits, a power supply and network adapters into a single, sealed IP69k housing. The sealed IP69k metal housing of nickel-plated cast aluminum resists the effects of weld slag—a by-product of the welding operation—and magnetic fields created by high currents at weld points found in close proximity to the weld head, says the vendor. In addition, the protective housing is lighter than other similar I/O products, meaning it is well-suited for end-of-arm robotic applications.
