CAN in Automation Meetings Set

Feb. 6, 2006
CiA Information Day events are planned for Chicago, Nuremberg and Milan.

CAN in Automation (CiA)—the Erlangen, Germany-based international users’ and manufacturers organization that develops and supports CAN-based higher-layer protocols—has scheduled upcoming “CiA Information Day” events in Chicago; Nuremberg, Germany; and Milan, Italy. The sessions are for anyone interested in the CiA technical specifications, standardization activities, and marketing information.

CAN, which stands for Controller Area Network, is a serial bus system originally developed for automotive applications that was later standardized as ISO 11898-1, overseen by the International Organization for Standardization.

At the upcoming meetings, CiA employees will make presentations on the following topics: market figures and market research spotlight information on application-specific markets; CiA marketing activities, services and publication strategies; CAN technology trends; CiA specification activities; and CAN-related international standardization activities.

The CiA Information Day events will be presented in the English language in Chicago on March 17, in Nuremberg on March 23 and in Milan on June 1. Additional information and online registration is available at www.can-cia.org/cia_information.
