MESA Welcomes New User Members (sidebar)

Feb. 1, 2005
The Manufacturing Enterprise Solutions Association (MESA) International is an organization of manufacturing users and solution providers dedicated to promoting the exchange of best practices, strategies and innovation in managing manufacturing operations.

When Kevin Roach, president of Rockwell Software, in Milwaukee, took over as chairman of MESA in late 2003, he set as his number one priority the goal of transforming the organization from one run by software vendors to one run by end-user members.

How is this progressing? Says Roach, “Continued end-user focus is our mantra. We have quadrupled our membership and, more importantly, increased our industrial end-user membership by 300 percent in 2004. It was important to keep our core board of directors together for a second consecutive term, and we have added four new end-user board members to expand our customer focus.”

MESA recently released a white paper on Collaborative MES, which is available for download at www.mesa.org. Says Roach, “Collaborative MES provides end users with agility, thus allowing increased flexibility, responsiveness and supply chain velocity.”
