IDEM Safety Switches, a manufacturer of machine-safety products, will showcase its DS Range of configurable safety interlocks and control stations, the HLZ heavy-duty guard locking safety switch, and its comprehensive portfolio of machine safety solutions at PPMA Show 2026. Taking place Sept. 22–24 in Hall 5 at the NEC in Birmingham, the show brings together the latest technologies for processing, packaging, robotics and automation. Visitors to stand H22 can explore IDEM solutions designed to support safer, more reliable industrial machinery across a broad range of applications.

 The DS Range from IDEM Safety Switches combines configurable operator controls with optional integrated safety interlocking in a heavy-duty, compact design. Constructed with a die-cast housing and a 40 mm profile, the units can mount directly to guard frames to help conserve space and simplify installation. The DS Range uses a pre-configured quick-connect interface to reduce wiring time, minimize connection errors and lower commissioning effort. Configurations support up to 10 integrated pilot devices, including emergency stops and pushbuttons, while optional DS-MLZ Type 4 monitored guard locking with a high-coded RFID actuator provides tamper-resistant guard detection, up to 4,000 N holding force and support for Category 4 / PL e and SIL 3 safety systems.

Also featured at stand H22 will be the HLZ heavy-duty guard locking safety switch, designed for industrial applications requiring high locking force, environmental protection and advanced functional safety. Manufactured from mirror-polished 316 stainless steel and rated to IP69K, the HLZ provides resistance to water, dust, corrosion and high-pressure washdown environments and is suitable for SIP and CIP cleaning applications. Its locking mechanism delivers up to 10,000 N of holding force, while a high-coded RFID sensor provides Type 4 interlocking in accordance with EN ISO 14119. The HLZ incorporates OSSD safety outputs and can achieve safety levels up to Category 4, PL e and SIL 3, including when multiple devices are connected in series. The head provides three actuator entry positions, a flexible actuator helps accommodate guard misalignment and four status LEDs provide clear indication of switch, guard, lock and fault conditions.
