Potential for Revving Up the Energy Transition

May 12, 2023
Excess heat is an important but overlooked component to the energy transition.

Excess heat could be the next solution in the energy transition, according to data from Danfoss.

The multinational engineering group recently published a whitepaper, “The world’s largest untapped energy source: excess heat”, that revealed that excess heat can help boost the world economy’s productivity, reduce energy prices and accelerate the energy transition – yet its potential is seldom utilized.

“[The U.S.] is sitting on a gold mine of excess heat,” Danfoss regions president Astrid Mozes said in the whitepaper. “Policy makers must push for more efficient use of the vast amounts of wasted energy in the form of excess heat.”
