ORBIS Corporation, an international manufacturer of sustainable reusable packaging and an expert in supply chain optimization, has earned recognition as a Partner-level supplier for 2014 in the John Deere Achieving Excellence Program.

This is the third consecutive time ORBIS has won this award, demonstrating the company’s continued commitment to providing greater shareholder value by building sustainability into every day processes.

The Partner-level status is Deere & Company’s highest supplier rating. ORBIS was selected for the honor in recognition of its dedication to providing products and service of outstanding quality as well as its commitment to continuous improvement. Don Schneider, ORBIS strategic account manager and Dan Roovers, ORBIS executive vice-president of sales, accepted the recognition for ORBIS during formal ceremonies held on March 3 in Moline, Ill.

ORBIS Corporation is a supplier of plastic reusable shipping containers and pallets to many of John Deere’s plants. These shipping containers are fully reusable and are used to store, protect and ship components into John Deere assembly plants.

Suppliers who participate in the Achieving Excellence program are evaluated annually in several key performance categories, including quality, cost management, delivery, technical support and wavelength, which is a measure of responsiveness. John Deere Supply Management created the program in 1991 to provide a supplier evaluation and feedback process that promotes continuous improvement.
